Materna Health Solutions, Inc. ("Materna," "we," "us") is a HIPAA-regulated covered entity and operates this maternal-pediatric platform on behalf of itself and contracted providers. This Privacy Notice describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Identifiers and contact information: name, email, phone number, date of birth, language preference.

Protected health information (PHI): pregnancy status, vitals, lab results, medications, allergies, mental-health screenings, journal entries, voice recordings, FHIR-bundle data shared by other providers.

Account-security data: hashed passwords, multi-factor enrollment metadata, device fingerprints, audit-log entries.

Limited demographic and engagement metrics for aggregate quality improvement (never sold).

How we use information

To provide treatment, coordinate care across the patient's care team, and process payment for that care.

To run the operations of our covered-entity partners (quality, accreditation, training).

To send you reminders, education, and safety messages directly tied to your care.

To meet legal, regulatory, and public-health obligations including 42 CFR Part 2 protections where applicable.

How we share information

With your assigned providers, your facility's billing team, and any care coordinator we have authorized for your panel.

With Business Associates that help us operate the platform (hosting, voice transcription, language model inference, secure email/SMS). Each one signs a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement before receiving any PHI.

With other healthcare providers with your explicit consent (for example, the cross-border bundle sharing flow you control from Settings).

We do not sell personal data. We do not use PHI for advertising or to train third-party AI models that are not under BAA.

Your rights

Access, correct, port, and delete your data. We respond within 30 days.

Request restrictions or alternative methods of communication.

Receive an accounting of disclosures for the prior 6 years.

Withdraw any consent you have given (cross-border sharing, voice recording, telehealth).

File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights without retaliation.
